Yajur Veda:
Contains matter for recitation during sacrifice.
Sama Veda:
Handbook of musical elaborations of Vedic chants.
Atharva Veda:
these consist of practical prayers.
Uphanishads:
These are 100 written works that are primarily in in dialogue. They were produced over many hundred years and the dates are unknown. Beliefs that come from it are Brahman, Atman, Maya, Karma, Samsara, Moksha and Reincarnation.
The Bhagavad Gita:
This is part of a very long poem called Mahabharata that was written between 400 B.C.E. and 400 C.E. It tells how the sons of Pandu (Pandavas) conquered their cousins with the help of the god Krishna. It was written in dialogue between Prince Arjuna and his adviser, Krishna.
