Origins and Founders Judaism originated in the Middle East over 3500 years ago, specifically what we now know as the Israel and Palestinian territories. It is said that Moses was the main founder of Judaism, but Jews can trace their history back as far as Abraham.
Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, known as the Patriarchs, they were the physical and spiritual ancestors of Judaism. They Founded the religion now known as Judaism, and their decedents are the Jewish people. Judaism is a religious tradition, rooted in the ancient near eastern region of Canaan, which is now known as Israel and Palestinian territories. Judaism did not emerge until the 1st Century C.E. Judaism traces its heritage to the covenant God made with Abraham and his lineage (that GOD would make them a sacred people and give them a holy land.
