Hindu's had a series of beliefs. They believed that all things are in some way sacred because God exists in everything, and all things are ultimately one. This belief is known as Brahman which basically says that there are spirits everywhere. A similar belief is Atman, which means that individuals are sacred. They also believed that life was a never ending cycle of birth, death, and rebirth; otherwise known as Samsara. Hindu's also believed in karma which means that every action has an automatic moral consequence. A final belief that Hindu's have which is decided upon karma is reincarnation. Reincarnation is the belief that everything has a life source and when a life sources loses its form it is reborn into another form.

Puja can be perform for anything that is considered divine and it is done as a way of relating humans to the domain and actions of a divine.
