Aztec Belief: Aztecs believed that there were multiple hells and heavens, they believed that there were up to 9 hells and 13 heavens. Aztecs also believed that every night the sun wrestled with darkness. Aztecs were also polytheistic, believing in up to 1,000 gods. However they had greatest belief in the sun god.
Aztec Practice: Aztecs believed that their god needed to be kept nourished with human blood so they did rituals in which they would give blood. Aside from blood, gods also needed living hearts in order to stay nourished.
Mayan Belief: Mayans sanctified nature gods who were both benevolent and malevolent. Their creator god, supreme god Itzamna was the most important god because he was the god of the fire and god of the hearth. Aside from believing in the god Itzamna, they also believed in the gods Kukulcan, Chac, and Bolon Tzacab.
Mayan Practice: Mayans tended to practice a form of divination which focused mainly on their calendar system and their knowledge of astronomy. Mayans were very interested in the planet Venus and planned events such as wars accordingly to the planets rise of heavens. Aside from astronomy, they are known for their famous Mayan calendar which consisted of 365 days divided into 18 months.
Inca Belief: Incas are polytheistic meaning that they believe in more than one god. They believed that there was a god for everything that existed on the earth. Although they were polytheistic, they believed in Viracocha who was the creator of earth and all living things.
Inca Practice: A very important practice in the Incan religion is burial practice. Whomever the person was whether it were a commoner or a noble was always placed lying on their side with their knees into their chest with special items wrapped in a cloth. Since nobles were higher class they were buried with more items and better clothing.
